And We Sprang, All Right!!!

Tigs is getting on my case to write - I believe her words were something like, "Get in there and post something, or I'll gut you like a fish!!!"  I could be paraphrasing a little, but you know tigs...

Anyway, let me start by shouting out some very special "Thank You"s to some very special people.  First, Thank You to Mom, who put us up in her house so that we could attend Teeker's event, and for helping us get out there and box, and all the stuff in between!  Thank You to Teeks, who opened up her house to us, had some great stuff out and about, cooked up some great food, and did a fantastic job laying out the "road map" for us at Hubbard Park - that was truly awesome!  Thank You to the Tigster and her faithful sidekick Captain Umbrella, for spending the day with us, becoming closer friends, and making it one of the most memorable days EVER!  And Thank You everyone that came to the event, hit the trails, and from what I can tell, made the Teekster one happy camper about hosting this event!

Keeping up with. . .

i'm working on current. i'm trying for current. it's much much much more interesting to boing through the forest than it is to sit still and write about it to all y'all. Bubs, why o why did i let you talk me into this? "it will be fun" he said. "there will be two of us, so it won't be a burden" he said. "Besides, everyone knows how silly we get," he said. . . yeah, well. it was that last bit that got me.

The Traveling Tigger Boxer

So, when i head out on the trail, be it in airplane, car or hike mode, part of the problem is that i don't know how to stop, really. It's the tigger thing: i start with the boing, and the boinging continues basically until i drop. Time of day means nothing. Dark means nothing. Hunger is one of those things that Mr. Umbrella often has to remind me of - or, HE gets really REALLY grumpy which means i'd better feed him soon or he becomes The Shoes and letterboxing will cease!

Catching Up On Boxing Reports, Part 3 Of 3

I'm glad to see that I got my warning out in time, especially for those who could've been in danger this weekend down in NC, so let's get back to the fun and enjoyment of what we really like to do best, and that being letterboxing!  I'm sure tigs will appreciate the attention being shifted, if for nothing else, so that she can plan my demise.  So, back to boxing reports!

Public Safety Announcement

As many of you know, there can be many dangers, threats and scary things out on the trails that could potentially harm boxers.  Ticks can be rampant in some areas, and their creepy factor alone is enough to really get some boxers jittery.  Up here we don't really have dangerous snakes or spiders, but I'm sure that some of you southern boxers have to be careful about where you stick your hands or plant your boxes.  Then there are things like roots that trip you as you're hiking along, broken glass that some idiot threw near the box you are trying to find.  Richard Simmons stalking you through the woods as you are trying to be stealthy.  Attack mimes that jump down from trees when you least expect it.  Rabid boxes that have been unattended and left to revert to their wild untamed savageness.  You've been out there - you know what I'm talking about.

However, there is something out there far, far worse than any of these, and I am here to warn you about them today.  You need to know about these, familiarize yourself with them, memorize their every feature, so that if you ever encounter them, you will will know exactly what to do to prevent an attack, or survive one should you happen to be that unlucky.

Catching Up On Boxing Reports, Part 2 Of 3

Back to the blog.  As promised here is part two of our letterboxing so far for 2012.  But before I tell the tale, let me say two things - first, special thanks to Guzzy for hosting our first ltc tracker-swap-exchange thingy.  We're looking forward to seeing all those creative cards.  And again, I'd like to publically apologize to EnergyStar and all of those involved in his 2012 stamp swap.  I had to drop out last minute and really wish I could've stayed in.  *sigh*

Ok, on with the report.  And tigs!  No back-talk from you, or I'll release your shoes back into the wild where they can roam free and air out, and believe me, they'll thank me!
